Her family consisted of three sisters and one brother. Hungarian was her mother tongue and she rehearsed it often to maintain her fluency. Bruckner was born in Hollywood California to a Hungarian father and a Russian mother who have since divorced. Her paternal grandfather is German. Her parents are Budapest-born parents who came to Hungary. The family immigrated into the U.S.A. through an Italian refugee camp in the year 1984. There are two sisters and an older brother.
